Within your carrier, you have the ability to set the permissions of a customer to either create test-only shipments, or enable them to create live shipments on your account.

Customer Management

With “Live Mode” disabled, your clients can:

• Set up/update their billing information
• Create test shipments
• View and manage their historical live-mode shipments (if any)
• View and manage their historical test-mode shipments (if any)
• Get and use their API credentials
• Create a bulk upload of shipments (all shipments will be in test mode)

With “Live Mode” enabled, your clients can additionally:

• Create live shipments
• View and manage their historical live- and test-mode shipments (if any)
• Get and use their API credentials and the ability to set both test=true and test=false
• Create a bulk upload of shipments (shipments can be in either test or live mode, defaulting to live mode if not set)

Disabling a Client’s access altogether

Pressing the “Disable” button for a customer will prevent them from accessing your Carrier platform altogether. As a security feature, once disabled, the client cannot be re-enabled without contacting Carrier Link support.

<aside> 💡 We recommend that you only disable a client when you are confident that you do not ever want them transacting with your carrier

This is especially useful for a client that is maliciously using your service. If the client plans to return, there is no harm in leaving them in live-mode or test-only mode in their off period.
